Why It Matters

Falls From Height Are
Still the No.1 Killer

Properly fitted and correctly used safety harnesses save lives every day on UK construction sites. Don't leave it to chance.

Legal Requirement

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require workers to be trained in the correct use of fall protection equipment including harnesses.

Reduce Accidents

Improperly fitted or incorrectly used harnesses are as dangerous as no harness. Proper training dramatically reduces accident risk.

Insurance & Liability

Trained and certified workers protect your business from liability claims and satisfy insurance requirements when working at height.

FAQs

Common Questions

How long does the course take?
The Safety Harness course is typically a half day. Combined with Leading Edge training, it can be a full day. Duration varies depending on group size and whether practical sessions are included.
Is there a practical element?
Yes — we strongly recommend and prefer a practical session as it reinforces real-world application. Practical elements cover fitting, inspection and simulated rescue scenarios.
What certificate do I receive?
Delegates receive a Certificate of Completion from Access Towers Services. This documents the course content covered, instructor details, and is valid evidence of training for site and insurance purposes.
What should I bring or wear?
Wear comfortable work clothing. Safety boots are recommended for on-site sessions. We provide all harness equipment during the course. Water and refreshments are available at our centre.
Can you train a group at our site?
Absolutely. On-site delivery is one of our most popular options, particularly for teams of 4 or more. We use your equipment in your environment, making the training directly relevant to daily tasks.
How often does the training need renewing?
We recommend refresher training every 3 years, or sooner if equipment or site conditions change, following an incident, or when returning to work after an extended absence involving height work.
